Steve joined USAA in 2007 and is currently the Vice President of Enterprise Innovation. In this role, he and his team work alongside Bank and Enterprise senior leaders to identify and experiment with innovative technologies, solutions and partners. His focus is also on increasing USAA’s pace of innovation and continuously evolving our methodology to support rapid prototype deployment and quick time to market. His role involves the building of FinTech inside USAA and also leveraging outside innovation to fulfill the Mission. Prior to his role in the Chief Innovation Office, Steve held the position of Vice President, Head of Consumer Lending. His portfolio included Auto Loans, Personal Loans, Recreational Vehicle/Watercraft Loans, Military Loans, and the USAA Car Buying Service. Before this Steve held the role of AVP - Business Process Excellence for Consumer Lending; in this role he helped architect the Auto Circle experience. Prior to joining USAA, Steve spent five years at Sitel Corporation where he served as Vice President of Relationship Management in the insurance and financial services space. There he was the relationship owner for strategic clients in the financial service industry and was responsible for designing large contact center and system implementations. Prior to Sitel, Steve worked for InsLogic, building a private label insurance agency for the banking industry. He also has held management positions at several direct response insurance organizations including AMICA, Reliance Direct and Colonial Penn Insurance with responsibilities including operations, sales, service and underwriting. Steve earned a BA from St. Lawrence University with an Economics Major and a Minor in Government.
